Our General Practitioners
Skipton Medical Practice has General Practitioners available five days a week.
Dr. Malcolm Anderson
Dr. Malcolm Anderson graduated from Monash University in 1971. Dr. Anderson has spent most of his medical career in General Practice in rural Victoria. In 1982, Dr. Anderson trained as a GP Anaesthetist in the UK. Dr. Anderson returned from the UK and moved to Nhill with his family where they lived and worked for 25 years, before relocating to Buninyong. In addition to working at the Skipton Medical Practice Dr. Anderson continues to visit Nhill once a month to provide anaesthetics for eye surgery.
Dr. Anderson is also a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner for CASA undertaking medical checks for pilots.
Dr. Anderson is available for appointments on Mondays.
Dr. Badrika Kahawatta
Dr. Kahawatta is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. With a Master’s degree in Medicine and a Diploma in Mental Health. Dr. Kahawatta has over 12 years of rural General Practice experience and is passionate about taking a holistic approach in managing his patients’ care.
Dr. Kahawatta has special interests in mental health, skin cancer surgery, child health and chronic disease management.
Dr. Kahawatta is available for appointments Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Dr. Francesco Iannello
Dr. Iannello commenced as a General Practice Registrar at the Skipton Medical Practice in 2023. Dr. Iannello is passionate about providing continuity of care over time for our local community.
Dr. Iannello enjoys being involved in multiple different domains of care, including primary, acute and subacute.
Dr. Ianello is available for appointments Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
