Gill Checkley Memorial Scholarship
The Gill Checkley Memorial Scholarship is awarded in memory and recognition of Dr. Gillian Checkley’s contribution and service as a Board Director to BSHS. The scholarship is designed to assist and provide education expenses for Beaufort and Skipton Health Service staff.
Dr. Gillian Checkley joined the Beaufort and Skipton Health Service Board of Directors in October 2001. Dr. Gillian Checkley earned great respect as an active and hardworking member of the Board of Directors and also served on a number of management committees. Sadly Dr. Gillian Checkley passed away in late 2003.
In memory and recognition of Dr. Gillian Checkley’s outstanding contribution to the Health Service, a scholarship was established to support staff education. The scholarship is designed to assist Beaufort and Skipton Health Service staff members with further education and training, while maintaining the memory of Dr. Gillian Checkley and her commitment to the Health Service.
