THE UNBREAKABLE FARMER IS COMING TO SKIPTON
The farmers of our community, dedicated men and women that truly put in the hard yards, often face challenges that most people can only imagine.
From the relentless grip of drought or the devastation of floods and fires, to the heartbreaking fluctuations in the prices of their produce, the pressures on our local primary producers are immense.
The old adages, “take it on the chin” or “next year will be better,” may once have offered some comfort, but for many, they are beginning to feel more like empty clichés. The weight of these struggles is sometimes evident in the faces of those that we see. The reality is farming can be a daily battle, one that can take a toll not just on the land but also on the mental and emotional wellbeing of our farmers and their families.
Recognising these challenges, the Health Service is committed to use our influence to support our agricultural community.
We must provide the necessary resources, support, advice and care to help our farmers navigate these turbulent waters and cultivate a resilience that can sustain them through the toughest times. The Health Service is excited to announce a free event to do just that, generously supported by the Corangamite Shire Council. We will be hosting a breakfast featuring remarkable guest speaker, Warren Davies, also known as the “Unbreakable Farmer”. Warren is not only a leading rural mental health speaker but also someone who brings a wealth of experience and insight to the conversation. His ability to entertain while providing valuable strategies on building resilience makes him an ideal speaker for our community.
Please join us on Wednesday 20 November at 8:00am for a breakfast at the Skipton Golf and Bowls Club, for what promises to be an inspiring morning. Whether you are a farmer, a family member, or a friend who cares about the wellbeing of our agricultural community, we encourage you to attend. You may find that Warren’s message resonates deeply, and it might just be the spark of hope and strength that you, or someone you care about needs.
Together we can support one another, share experiences, and cultivate a culture of resilience within our farming community. Let’s work towards becoming unbreakable together.
