BSHS CELEBRATING NATIONAL SKILLS WEEK 2024
National Skills Week is dedicated to raising the profile and status of skills and vocational learning, dispelling outdated myths and showcasing the attractive career opportunities for all Australians.
Vocational Education and Training (VET) has been the foundation of Australia’s strong and vibrant economy. It has produced industry leaders, it offers great diversity, new and exciting career paths, supports our resources and primary industries, builds our cities, supports our tourism, our monuments, our heritage and much more.
Beaufort and Skipton Health Service is committed to encouraging and supporting staff to continually advance their careers and gain further vocational qualifications.
Multiple staff from a range of different departments have completed further education whilst working at the Health Service and continue to move into a variety of different positions as they advance their careers.
Shona Walsh | Home Care Packages Case Manager
Shona is currently completing a Diploma of Community Services which has allowed her to change career pathways from Support Services in the kitchen to work directly with community members.
Tessa Allen and Billie Anstis | Support Service Staff
Tessa and Billie are currently completing a Certificate ||| in Commercial Cookery allowing them to upskill to become chefs and put their skills into place to improve resident experience.
Maddie Pollini | Diploma of Community Services student
Maddie is currently a first year Diploma of Community Services student completing her placement at BSHS which has provided her with learning opportunities in an organisation with supportive staff.
