LOOKING AFTER YOUR MENTAL WELLBEING
The Health Service recently hosted a Looking after your Mental Wellbeing forum. It was encouraging to see more than 30 attendees and see that the community recognise mental wellbeing as an important part of their health and wellbeing.
Presenter and qualified Social Worker and Counsellor, Freya Maberly, explained the links between the body’s nervous system, emotional regulation and mental wellbeing in a way that was simple and easy to understand. She also noted that the stigma surrounding mental health is changing and it is important to understand the link between our mind and body.
Freya also provided simple strategies for attendees to be able to implement into their daily routine to support their resilience and promote positive mental wellbeing.
The Health Service were pleased to hold the event and receive such positive feedback and are thankful to Freya for her time and sharing her knowledge with our local community.
This event was made possible thanks to funding from Pyrenees Shire Council.
