Beaufort and Skipton Health Service would like to take this opportunity to update you on our ongoing response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19 outbreak, to protect our vulnerble residents, patients and the community.

Visitors are permitted into our facilities, subject to the following:

  • Visitors are required to provide evidence of a negative result from their COVID-19 rapid antigen test on the same day that they attend the care facility. Alternatively you can provide evidence of a COVID-19 PCR negative test result, within 24 hours prior to visiting the care facility.
    The facility can provide RAT tests if visitors cannot access one. We will need to see evidence of the negative RAT test result on arrival to the facility (a photo that includes the date will be accepted).
  • Visitors must sign in and complete the attestation as normal and then staff will ensure that you are given a clean N95 mask to wear. This is a requirement to enter the facility.
  • If possible, visits should take place in resident's rooms.
  • We strongly encourage and recommend that all visitors are vaccinated.
  • Where visitors are not fully vaccinated, all visits should occur either outdoors or in the resident's own toom. Unvaccinated visitors will not be permitted to be in any common areas.
  • While we encourage residents to not leave the facility, residents are able to leave with family and friends as long as they comply with current public health orders.
  • We ask that you still wear a mask at all times when you leave the facility to protect yourselves and our residents and staff.
  • All events and group activities will be reviewed to allow as much to proceed as we can.

All visitors must:

  • Be free of COVID-19 symptoms - other than symptoms caused by a health condition or medication.
  • Not currently be required to self-isolate or have been a close contact.


  • We have both PCR and Rapid Antigen Testing available at both the Beaufort and Skipton campuses.

We continue to encourage eligible members of the community to get vaccinated as soon as they can. Vaccination is the best way to prevent severe illness from COVID-19. It is extremely important that you get your vaccination booster as soon as possible.

  • First, second, third and winter doses, are available at our vaccination clinis at both Beaufort and Skipton campuses.

Vaccinations are also available through the Grampians Public Health Unit Community Vaccination Clinic at 18 Drummond Street, Ballarat. The Community Vaccination Clinic is open Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm.
