Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is located at both Beaufort and Skipton. The Beaufort Occupational Therapist is located in Havelock Street, Beaufort. The Skipton Occupational Therapist is located in Blake Street, Skipton.

The Occupational Therapist (OT) will visit people in their home and complete a home and functional assessment to identify any activities which they may be experiencing difficulty with.

The OT can recommend and prescribe aids, equipment or home modifications which may assist people to continue to live safely and independently in their home. Recommendations include scooters, wheelchairs, personal alarms, rails and ramps.

The OT can also provide information and strategies to reduce falls and teach simplified techniques to decrease tiredness.

Statewide Equipment Program (SWEP) funding applications for recommended equipment or home modifications can also be completed if required.


Community Home Support Program eligible - all individuals who are aged or have a disability.

Do I need a referral?

Referrals are accepted from General Practitioners, Medical Specialists or other health professionals and can be faxed to Beaufort Medical centre or clients can self-refer by contacting the OT directly.

There is no cost for an Occupational Therapy home assessment for Community Home Support Program eligible clients. The equipment or home modifications recommended are at the clients cost.
