Cycle Relay Raises Record Funds for Health Service

Murray to Moyne cyclists and volunteers have raised over $10,000 in aid of the Beaufort and Skipton campus refurbishments for Beaufort and Skipton Health Service.

Organisors were encouraged this year with the strong support from sponsors and community, with all activities being well attended and locals getting behind the annual event.

Local Beaufort Community Bank was again a significant contributor to fundraising, highlighting their important role in progressing community based organisations and events.  Beaufort and Skipton Health Service CEO, Vicki Poxon expressed her appreciation, “I really want to thank Tim Chandler, team members and staff for their involvement in the relay, but more importantly the amazing support from our community and it’s businesses,” Ms Poxon said.  “It constantly amazes me what can be done when people get behind a worthwhile cause”, she added.

Funds for the event will now help to progress the plans for the Health Service refurbishments, with construction expected to begin within the next few months.
