Beaufort and Skipton Health Service is a small rural health service providing urgent care, primary care, aged care and in patient acute services across two health service campuses in the townships of Beaufort located in the Pyrenees Shire and Skipton within the Corangamite Shire.

Administration Officer – Ward Clerk

Part time (32 hours per week)

Permanent

Duties:

  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the primary care facility, hospital and aged care, program or services
  • Perform a range of administrative support tasks to assist and ensure the efficient functioning of each clinical program and funding stream
  • Promote efficient teamwork and service provision both within the health service and with other stakeholders.

Key Selection Criteria

  1. Maintains and is involved in knowledge and skill development opportunities through attendance and participation in relevant training and education.
  2. Demonstrates all communication is appropriate, respectful and within the values of the health service.
  3. Collection and entry of data and information according to the needs of the clinical area.
  4. Actively participates in all relevant Accreditation standards preparation according the needs of the clinical area.
  5. Demonstrates efficient, timely and accurate preparation of work processes and documentation.
  6. Operates all Information Communications Technology systems efficiently and confidently.
  7. Assists with the sourcing of resources to assist with the delivery of patient care and services as directed by the Practice Manager and Director of Clinical Services.

Chief Financial Officer 

Full Time Permanent

We are currently seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to provide a high degree of proficiency in the management and oversight of the finance systems, procedures and policies at Beaufort and Skipton Health Service. This position requires specialised knowledge of accounting systems, State and Federal Government reporting requirements and day-to-day business operating functions.

The Chief Financial Officer is an integral member of the executive management team, working to ensure the finance systems are maintained to meet best practice. Provide specialised knowledge to manage the business operations of the health service. Liaise on a regular basis with finance networks across the region and state wide.

Typical duties will include:

  • Develop financial control systems, budget guidelines and reporting mechanisms so that Management and Board have a complete understanding of the financial viability, efficiency and future options for resource management.
  • Prepare economic and demographic forecasts as part of an overall planning process to determine the future growth and services of the health service.
  • Manage and monitor the budget including resource allocation and deployment of resources to meet priority needs.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work consistently and positively within a team to achieve BSHS vision, mission and strategic performance.Foster effective working relationships across the organisation and resolve any conflict in accordance with BSHS procedures and values.
  • Ensure communication to all staff and stakeholders is inclusive and consistent.

Maintenance Officer

Permanent Part-Time (0.6 EFT)

Beaufort and Skipton Health Service are seeking a maintenance officer to work within our maintenance team ensure that the organisations grounds, buildings, plant and equipment are well maintained, well presented, physically secure, compliant with all appropriate regulations and provide a safe environment for the organisation and community.

Typical duties will include:

  • Maintain grounds including gardens, lawn mowing, watering, weeding, fertilising, planting and pruning. 
  • Clearing of external drains, ensure paved areas are clear of debris.
  • Preventative maintenance jobs including gutter and roof cleaning, windows, external building and furniture cleaning and painting.
  • Work with the Maintenance Team to resolve any problems or issues related to staffing, maintenance prioritizing or any other general day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.

Support Services Supervisor - Skipton

Full Time Permanent

The Support Services Supervisor is required to ensure the smooth operation of all functions within support services, such as preparation, kitchen management, plating of patient/resident meals, delivery of meals, meals on wheels functions, cleaning, food production, stock control, daily schedules and temperatures, rosters and management of support services staff.

Typical duties will include:

  • Manage the Support Service staff to resolve any problems or issues related to staffing, food production, delivering, rosters, performance management or any other general day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
  • Ensure all catering orders are logged in the catering diary, adequate food orders are placed and food services team rostered on the day of the function are communicated details of the catering order and the delivery times required.
  • Ensure that the food is delivered to and dishes collected from the designated function location.
  • Ensure that all food leaving the kitchen is of the correct dietary option, portion size and food texture, pre-setting and plating of food, including meals on wheels is provided to each patient.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team to facilitate integrated person centred care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work consistently and positively within a team to achieve custom focused outcomes.

Registered Nurse - Skipton

Beaufort and Skipton Health Service (BSHS) are currently seeking professional and highly motivated part-time Registered Nurses at our Skipton campus.

About Skipton

The historic township of Skipton is located in the Western District of Victoria. The town is situated on the Glenelg Highway 160 km west of Melbourne and 52 km south west from the regional center of Ballarat.

Skipton is located on the banks of Mount Emu Creek and is known as the ‘home of the platypus’. The main agricultural product of the area is fine wool. The famous Skipton rail trail allows people to walk or cycle between Skipton and Ballarat, enjoying the beautiful country scenery. The town has a number of interesting sites, including the Gothic Presbyterian bluestone church, the Mount Widderin Caves and the National Trust property ‘Mooramong’ and its wildlife sanctuary and flora and fauna reserve.

About the role

BSHS is currently seeking professional and highly motivated part-time Registered Nurses at our Skipton campus. These positions are an integral part of the management team, working to support the Nurse Unit Manager in an effective, high quality and financially efficient service, to ensure the delivery of quality person centred care in an efficient clinical environment. On an afterhours basis the ANUM regularly assumes the Grade 5 in charge role.

Skills & attributes

  • Current APHRA nursing registration with a minimum of 3 years post graduate experience
  • Relevant aged and/or acute care experience 
  • Experience in staff supervise
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills

Endorse Enrolled Nurse - Beaufort

Beaufort and Skipton Health Service is a rural health service that provides urgent care, community health, medical services, acute care and residential aged care in integrated units at Beaufort and Skipton. This position is based at the Skipton campus, a leisurely 45 minute drive from Ballarat.

The EEN is an integral member of the Clinical team working with the Associate Nurse Unit Manager and the Registered Nurses working within their scope of clinical practice to ensure the delivery of quality person centred care in a variety of clinical settings.

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- Advanced clinical skills and a commitment to high quality care and services
- A minimum of three years’ experience as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
- Experience in an Aged Care facility preferred
- Current and ongoing registration with AHPRA as an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse
- Commitment to the philosophy of a person-centred approach to providing care and services
