Registered Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse is responsible for the total care of the patient and resident, including physical and mental wellbeing and safety, as well as for the management and co-ordination of staff, being at all times mindful of following orders or recommendations of the Director of Clinical Services and Medical Practitioners. The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing individualised person centered care, on a day-to-day basis and practices according to their own level of educational preparedness and competence.

District Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated District Nurse. The District Nurse is an integral member of the community health team and will work collaboratively with all services and agencies, to facilitate clients in achieving maximum independence.  This will be achieved through a combination of education, support and expert clinical knowledge and, working with the client and their carer, assess, plan and implement appropriate packages of care for patients in their own home.

Graduate Nurse Transition to Practice Program

Part time (0.8 EFT) Fixed Term (12 months)

An exciting opportunity exists for three candidate to join our Graduate Nurse Program for 2022. 

At BSHS we take only 3 graduates for the year which allow for us to tailor your clinical experiences to meet your areas of interests and ensure your growth as a registered nurse. We have a focus on leadership and time management by providing the opportunity for the graduate to work in a variety of areas. Both Beaufort and Skipton campuses allow for experiences in residential care, sub – acute, acute and urgent care.

BSHS strive for the graduate to:

  • Consolidate and extend their experience in the delivery of health care that is person focused
  • Work affectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Collaborate with other health services, building connections and networks
  • Use reflective practice to enhance learning opportunities with the aim of developing critical thinking and situational awareness skills
  • Be able to accept and work with effective feedback to improve practice
  • Begin to develop leadership skills
  • Interact with students as mentors and preceptors

The Transition to Practice (TTP) program includes:

  • Orientation at both BHS and BSHS
  • Initial 1 week study block at BHS
  • 3 rotations, one at each of Skipton, Beaufort and BHS
  • Supernumerary time at the commencement of each rotation
  • Attendance at study days run through BHS with graduates from other health services
  • Participation in the Care of the Older Person (COOPs) program
  • Support from clinical staff and Education department

Candidates must have current APHRA registration, working with children check, current influenza vaccine and are classified based on the Victorian Nurses Award and current Enterprise Bargaining Agreement.
